  I would normally never give a place a one star rating but that being said, this place deserves it. I hired them for my wedding and the food was moldy. Yes, I repeat, MOLDY. I know they are supposed to be affordable but I didn't pay for rotten bread and cold pasta. Would not recommend to anyone!

  Simply put our experience with affordable catering as a company was disorganized, confusing, and at times very frustrating. Although they were the cheapest company on our preferred caterers list, they were also very slow to respond to emails and difficult to communicate with. There were several occasions where I had to repeat the same information multiple times because they didn't update our file or had simply failed to write down updated information as I gave it to them. We also had frustrating face to face experiences with the employees. For example, one time we drove over an hour to do a "cake sampling" and when we arrived they had only a small plate of 3 bite sized pieces of dry cake. They couldn't tell us how much the cake we wanted would cost and ended up underestimating the price of the first cake I picked and later bumping up the price. They also didn't include a cake stand in the price and didn't even mention bringing one until I asked them about it. Part of their agreement states that you need to turn in a checklist 1 month before the wedding. They didn't send me my checklist until 3 weeks before the wedding and that was after 2 weeks of me bugging them about it. They also didn't send me my invoice until 1 week before when it was supposed to be due 3 days before my wedding. I am giving them 2 stars because the actual quality of food was pretty good and they come through on the day of the wedding (other than not bringing the greenery they promised to put on the cake and being rude to the other people setting up for the wedding). However, the process leading up to the day of the wedding was excruciating. We definitely won't be going with the company again.

  I was really excited to work with Affordable Catering because of the services they offered and because it was also a preferred caterer of our wedding venue. I originally emailed them asking about our wedding date and setting up a tasting, in which they were very quick to respond back by the next business day. Our tasting was set for 5:30pm with Jennifer but the day of our tasting, Jennifer called to verify our appointment and said that she would not be able to make it and Chesney would be helping us with the tasting. That was fine with us, but when we arrived at 5:30pm, there was no food prepared. She briefly went through the materials they had sitting on the table (books of their work, options for plates/napkins, etc.) and offered us a drink. We sat in the room until 6:20pm until she finally brought us some food to try. She brought large plates with several options but the food was not good. The vegetables were too spicy, the meat was tough and dry and nothing that was brought to us (8-10 options) was something we wanted to eat again. She was great at answering our questions and quoting us for the price of the food and services. She promised we would be emailed the quote by the next day and it has now been 3 weeks since we met. No one from Affordable Catering has even followed up since the appointment that we went to. I am never one to write reviews about products or businesses but because this is such an important & expensive part of a wedding, I want people to know the experience I had with Affordable Catering. Based on our interaction and having no one follow up with us about our tasting, I would not recommend this cater.
